New Xmas map for COD 4. for the pc.
i like the music in this video. but, i would have went for WIZARDS OF WINTER.
Everyone knows the the PS3 sucks, but the Wii is all hype!!
What i really dont understand is why everyone is going crazy over a outdated system just because it has different controllers. "its obvious over hyped" as seen here.
A chain of retail gaming stores caught with hand in cookie jar, directly selling Wiis on Ebay for higher margins.
According to Ars Technica, Slackers of Illinois/Missouri are taking retail Wiis and dumping them on Ebay for $399, $150 above the MSRP.
When confronted with the breech of contract with Nintendo, a Slackers representative begrudgingly said, "That is something you'll have to speak with the owner about." Management has not responded.
Retailers have unfairly, though legally, used bundle gouging to nickel and dime gamers seeking Wiis in short supply. This is the first report, however, of retailers bypassing retail to become online resellers which yield better returns.
"We don't have to remind retailers of the strength we have right now," said Nintendo president Reggie Fils-Aime in a recent interview. "We are simply making an observation and that reinforces our point quite nicely with retailers."

Call of Duty 4. Montage.
CALL OF DUTY 4, IS BEATING HALO 3 WORLDWIDE SALES. WOW!!!!
Analyst: Call Of Duty 4 To Match Halo 3 Sales
Most times, video game industry analysts say some pretty logical things. Like, "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock will be a big title for Activision," and Halo 3 will be huge." Yeah, those predictions make perfect sense. Others, while somewhat controversial, have a foundation based in some potential validity, like "the PS3 will eventually win this generation," and "no Grand Theft Auto IV could hurt the holiday season." But others...we just gotta scratch our heads and wonder.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is definitely a huge game, but we never thought it would be Halo 3-huge. Sure, it's sold out all over the place and the reviews are sky-high (so far), but can it really end up selling as much or even more than Bungie's massive title? According to Nollenberger Capital Partners analyst Todd Greenwald, yes, it can.
"Thus far, the game has an average score of 9.5/10 on Metacritic.com, which is almost unprecedented and puts it on par with Halo 3," he said. "It certainly is the highest-rated game Activision has ever created. Keep in mind, CoD4 is launching on four times as many platforms (Xbox 360, PlayStation3, PC, DS) as Halo 3 (360 only). Halo 3 has so far sold about 4 million units. A year ago, Call of Duty 3 sold about 3 million units, and we anticipate this year's version could do four million or more." (source- EscapistMagazine)
He makes a good point in the fact that CoD4 is a multiplatform title, which obviously means it has greater sales potential than an exclusive title like Halo 3. But the latter is the fastest selling entertainment-based product, whether we're talking about games, movies, books, music, whatever, so can this really be true? Microsoft expects to sell 10 million copies of Halo 3 (albeit not in 2007)...will Activision boast similar numbers with CoD4? We realize Greenwald is only talking about this year, though, so we suppose it's feasible.

call of duty 4, 1080p, 360 Vs. PS3???
Nov 7, 2007 11:10 am PT First of all, I own both systems and brought the ps3 version (I actually brought into the bs all the sony fanboys were blowing about how ps3 graphic was better). The 360 version was borrowed from my roommate. Second of all, I brought a ps2 before I got a xbox in the previous generation (eventually I got the GC), because the ps2 had more and better games. This generation was the reverse. Something about these screenshots, both systems was running on 1080p, but that doesn't really matter because most screenshots were to compare the texture resolution not actual screen resolution (I don't have the professional equipment required to test that). The PS3 is running off of HDMI and 360 off of the d-sub input. Farther more you will see some slight differences in sharpness of each shots due to auto focus of the camera. The photos were taken in 1600x1200 resolution and scaled down to fit. This is your G36C model, you can see that 360 texture is sharper near the butt of the rifle and ps3 is very blocky by comparison. Next is Gaz at the beginning of your training mission. You can tell in the ps3 version that the fade behind his head is blurred/smudged compare to 360 and also the gears are blocky as well. Gaz's beard texture on the 360 is visually sharper (even more apparent in life, the lighting is bad in the screenshots). You can even tell individual strand of hair in the 360 version versus the blurred spots in the ps3. Again, the G36C model but this time before you picked it up. The shadow casted by the rifle is much more blockier in the ps3 version. Where as, in the 360, looks like AA is actually applied to the edge of the shadow. Taken in the "Charlie don't surf" level, when you first rope in. The difference here is day and night. I was shocked at the difference, it almost looks like 360's texture resolution is twice as high as ps3's. Again, the difference is very noticable. Taken in the same level. Some more shots at the same level. Again, the 360 is sharper even at extreme close up. Feel free to do your own screenshot comparison. I'm pretty sure you'll find that in all cases, 360 texture is sharper than ps3. author Bmanva |

Sony Profits Surge, But PlayStation 3 Losses Deepen
Sony Profits Surge, But PlayStation 3 Losses Deepen Electronics giant Sony has announced rebounding profits of 73.7 billion yen ($645 million) for the July-September quarter, thanks to increased sales of TVs, PCs, and cameras, with 1.31 million PlayStation 3s sold, but the game unit's losses widening due to the cost of PS3 hardware.
In Sony's game segment (the SCE division), sales did increase 42.9% year-on-year, primarily as a result of the contribution to sales from the PlayStation 3. However, an operating loss of 96.7 billion yen ($841 million) was recorded, significantly larger than the previous year.
According to a statement from the company: "This deterioration was primarily due to the loss arising from the strategic pricing of the PS3 at points lower than its production cost and the increase in PS3 inventory-related write-downs... compared to the same quarter of the previous year."
In addition, specific hardware and software numbers were given for PS3, PS2, and PSP hardware compared to the previous year. Interestingly, Sony has changed its method of gathering these numbers "from production shipments to recorded sales", as from June 2007, for unspecified reasons possibly related to a surfeit of PS3 hardware in stores.
Nonetheless, the numbers given are as follows: PS2 worldwide hardware sales for the quarter at 3.28 million, down 0.13 million year on year; PSP worldwide hardware sales at 2.58 million, down 0.56 million; and PS3 sales at 1.31 million.
As for worldwide software sales, the PlayStation 2 saw total sales from all first and third-parties of 38.0 million units, down 9.2 million year-on-year (bearing in mind the difference in collection methods). The PSP had software sales of 12.6 million units, down 0.6 million, and the PlayStation 3 had sales of 10.3 million software units.
Elsewhere in the firm, however, electronics segment sales increased over 20% thanks to Bravia LCD television, Vaio PC and Cyber-shot camera sales, though sales declined for products such as LCD rear-projection televisions.
However, this electronics segment, rather than Sony Computer Entertainment, was the engine for Sony's profit growth, which surged over the previous year, after Sony laptop battery recalls significantly affected profit in 2006.

New First Person Shooter demo coming to xboxlive
Frontlines: Fuel of War Demo This December
Oct 19, 2007 at 8:10 PM - Andrew Burnes - 0 Comments
TeamXbox reports that there'll be a Frontlines: Fuel of War demo released for their fave console this December:
When asked if a Frontlines demo would be released in the near future, DeLise stated that one is planned to launch on Xbox Live Marketplace in December. TeamXbox contacted THQ for verification, and a spokesperson backed up DeLise’s statement and confirmed the intended timeframe for the demo’s release.
Frontlines is a first-person shooter from THQ and Kaos Studios with a deep, non-linear, single-player campaign, as well as multiplayer support for up to 32 players. The game is slated for a first-quarter 2008 release. Check back later today for a fuller preview of the game from that event.

Michael Kozicki, director of Arizona State's Center for Applied Nanoionics, has developed a new type of computer memory that he claims is cheaper and more energy-efficient than current technology.
Photo: Michael Kozicki
Researchers have developed a low-cost, low-power computer memory that could put terabyte-sized thumb drives in consumers' pockets within a few years.
Thanks to a new technique for manipulating charged copper particles at the molecular scale, researchers at Arizona State University say their memory is, bit-for-bit, one-tenth the cost of -- and 1,000 times as energy-efficient as -- flash memory, the predominant memory technology in iPhones and other mobile devices.
"A thumb drive using our memory could store a terabyte of information," says Michael Kozicki, director of ASU's Center for Applied Nanoionics, which developed the technology. "All the current limitations in portable electronic storage could go away. You could record video of every event in your life and store it."
The new memory technology -- programmable metallization cell (PMC) -- comes as current storage technologies are starting to reach their physical limits. At the tiny scale envisioned for new devices, flash memory becomes unstable. The physical limits of flash are already being approached, and could be reached in the near future, which could slow product development for portable device makers like Apple and Sandisk.
PMC memory stores information in a fundamentally different way from flash. Instead of storing bits as an electronic charge, the technology creates nanowires from copper atoms the size of a virus to record binary ones and zeros.
In research published in October's IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices, Kozicki and his collaborators from the Jülich Research Center in Germany describe how the PMC builds an on-demand copper bridge between two electrodes. When the technology writes a binary 1, it creates a nanowire bridge between two electrodes. When no wire is present, that state is stored as a 0.
The key enabling technology for the memory is nano-ionics, a field that focuses on moving and transforming positively charged atoms. In PMC memory, the charged atoms, or ions, are harnessed by applying a negative charge, which transforms them into copper atoms lined up to form nanowires.
Kozicki says the process is like condensing a crystal from a solution, except that the process is almost infinitely reversible. If the PMC is fed a positive charge, the copper atoms return to their previous free-floating state, and the nanowires disassemble.
Kozicki says the technology can be built from materials commonly used in the memory industry, which should help keep manufacturing costs down.
The memory industry has already taken an interest. Three companies, Micron Technology, Qimonda and Adesto (a stealth-mode startup) have licensed the technology from Arizona State's business spin-off, Axon Technologies.
Kozicki says the first product containing the memory, a simple chip, is slated to come out in 18 months.
Market-research firm iSuppli projects the flash-memory market growing from $20 billion in 2006 to $32 billion in 2011. Mark DeVoss, a senior analyst in flash memory at iSuppli, says a lot of companies are gunning for a share of that $12 billion in growth, but it's hard to handicap the likely winners.
"There's a lot of elegant technologies," DeVoss says. "But you have to be able to scale it down and deliver a low cost-per-bit."
Kozicki's licensees believe the technology will deliver the outsize improvements that could drive the memory mainstream.
"No other technology can deliver the orders-of-magnitude improvement in power, performance and cost that this memory can," says Narbeh Derhacobian, CEO of Adesto, who previously worked at AMD's flash-memory division.
Adesto has received $6 million from Arch Venture Partners and additional funding from Harris & Harris, a venture firm specializing in nanotechnology.

Call of Duty 4, Released a week early, in Denver!!!
http://live.xbox.com/en-US/profile/profile.aspx?GamerTag=cmgriffi after doing some investigating, i confirmed it via telephone to a Best Buy store. in Denver Colorado. they only have four copies left. but, heres the vid.
i wished i lived near that Best Buy.

Addicting console
- Reviewed By: Mike on 10/24/2007
- Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
- Pros: I actually got my xbox from somewhere else and its the same exact one same price comes with same games. And i just got to say it incredible, i hooked it up to my pc screen through hdmi-dvi with cable i got from newegg and its running great. it comes with free one month of gold service if you sign up for free with silver service. I havent been able to do my hw for a while now since i got this lol. its addicting, many new demos downloadable for free, i played 38 demos so far in the past 3 weeks and all free and some are multyP. online so its awesome. the console has the new hdmi and 65nm chips standard now, and its great. gets warm during use, but so did my older xbox i had for many years now and really thats not a problem at all like ppl say.
- Cons: wish it came with free internet.. but microsoft has to make its money somehow. so its all good. $50 and i can get a full year of internet, its awesome. i guess one problem is that i cant shake the xbox while its on or move it at all while the cd is in it or it will all break from what i heard, but really thats not a problem, ppl should not shake or move running electrical equipment when its on anyway.
- Other Thoughts: for those people that say it gets to hot, well do not put you console where there is not enough air circulating, i put my old xbox in a tight spot one time, and boooy it got hot, and its the same with my pc, and this new xbox, it needs air, or chips will make the uncirculating air really hot then thats when problems happen. mine is now sitting between a wall a piece of furniture and my computer. it sits on the floor, but a little up from the surface on the box it came with so the holes on the bottom can suck up air as if it were str8 on the carpet it wont suck in cool air. and it has all the room up to the ceiling and about 5 to 6 inches all around and it runs really good, like my pc, well better, less noisy and a bit less as hot. so i'd say leave about 5-6 inches all around ur console to breathe, not so important on the sides, but in the back where the fans are.
wow, is this a reaction to the wii???

Cod4 is the first game on the ps3 that runs 60 frames per second. The first 1st person shooter, that actually delivers on its promises. Most important of all. It's actually coming out for the ps3 when it was suppose to come out. unlike many other titles rushed or pushed backed.
IW actually wanted to make a statement in the gaming industry, not only for its game but, for the hard working people at IW. GOOD JOB IW. a company for the moment that cares about the game and not deadlines.

Street Figher 4, and fighting games in general. On the Rise
I think were at a cross road with games right now and its a perfect opportunity for fighting games to make a come back. But, at what cost. if we keep 2d. it will die quick. if we try something new it flops and we have to wait for our turn again. I think i have a solution.
Just keep it 2d, add the rendered graphics to the characters like gears of war. but, change the background to 4 d graphics. could you Imagen Blanka with reflective scale like skin and a rendered face with that 4 d graphic back ground vs Ken or Ryu. it would be the badest fighting game ever made. Maybe Ed Boon the creator of Mortal Kombat would do this. Thus bring fighting games back to the forefront of gaming.
I think were all a little burnt out on FPS. and theres no shortage of fps coming out between now and next year 2008.

Dedicated servers, when will we get them for the consoles??
Ea was smart, they where looking into the future and held there ground when they hand the upper hand vs. Microsoft via ps2 and there sport titles. finally microsoft gave in and let EA run there own servers. the gaming is much better with 3rd party dedicated servers and there are many reasons but, i ll just point out a few.
the main advantage of a dedicated server overall is players. You can have more players on a online console ranked match vs hosted controlled games. this also may play a major part for developers who are designing new games with that in mind. If there company does not posses the servers to run a game like that. then they have to scale down. or you might wind up with something like a Ubisoft game aka Farcry. which was horrible online.
really i dont know how long its going to take for people to start crying about dedicated servers, but, theres only so much room left for graphics that the only direction developers can go is multiplayer. so, the bigger microsoft gets the harder its going to be to get a dedicated server with xboxlive.
Lets be thankful that Ea held out and that might be the model for other companies like. Activision and Ubisoft which is 24% owned bye Ea. but, First person shooters have to evolve or go stale. personally i think the next big thing in gaming is fighting games. you really dont need a dedicated server to run a 1 on 1 game. Plus we really hav'nt seen anything good in a long time. but, yet its in our nature to fight everyday. Where's the fighting games? will save that title for next time.
i think the most amazing 3rd party online and only dedicated game will be battlefield bad company. this game hopefully will force the hands of other big publishers to follow suit and get a dedicated server with xboxlive. As far as PSN goes, its a long way off. but, until next time, game on.

Welcome all, my very first post!!
To be honest i mostly made this blog because i got tired of being suspended from gamespot.com the worst online game discussion place on earth. you get jaded for anything. i got suspended one time for just saying the word "retard" and i was'nt even talking about anyone thats some lame ass shit. what really sucks about the whole thing is im a paying customer over there and they threat me like shit. i see way worst stuff in the forums then what i say. but, thats the way it goes when your just a crumb on the table, you get brushed away.
this is how mad i was when i made my first video about the whole thing.but, im on a crusade to make a free for all website for the masses, no, bullshit lockdown on the small stuff. Ofcourse its not going to be super crazy or anything its just going to be better then any other gamersite.
My new motto bye the gamer for the gamer. everyone is so fat over there, i think they forgot about us. Another thing, those cheap ass tournaments are joke. i could pay out more money myself.
like i said im only one person right now. but, with the help of the few we can become the opposite of evil. last time i checked that was good!!!. so, anyways.
LETS GET IT ON!!
